I got in trouble on talk radio today...
Every evening (that I work) I end up listening to
talk radio while the woman I’m working for drives. Some of these conversations
are rather engaging- and I have called in on the cell phone a number of times.
Tonight the subject was a TV News reporter who got
into some hot water by doing an internet commercial for Craigs List with his
girl friend- they were looking for another male to join them for some ‘play
time’, and apparently the visual (shot in Vegas) was quite graphic.
Dude got fired from his news reporting position.
My comment was “What’s the big deal? We know that
many reporters spend their evenings getting plastered at the bars and taking
anything that looks better than a negative 5 home with them… we know some
reporters are straight, some gay… So this guy is either bisexual, polysexual, or
just gets his kicks from watching. Big deal? He doesn’t do it on the news, it's
on his free time!”
The host said, “It’s not a moral question, it’s a
question of how believable he is after this public display.”
I said, "At least we know this guy will tell
us the truth- he's not afraid to represent himself truthfully.Let's compare this to President
Clinton… at least this guy wasn’t in his office, on the clock, getting paid to
get a blow job.”
Instant cut off.
Apparently you can’t say
the words, ‘blow job’ on the public radio waves.
I believe the host in your story of talk radio, Opal, was insulting peoples intelligence by saying the news reporter would not be believable after making a racy ad, but then they always assume that the average man lives in the bible belt and would be to narrow minded to withstand seeing how people live on the outside of their jobs. Most of us know they are not the robots they appear to be on the news. Maybe you should have said BJ as there is a restaurant named that and you might have gotten away with it. lol
of course, I could have come up with a whole list of other words to use... but 'blow job' was what came to mind and came out of my mouth.
Besides, the host just didn't want to be shown that she was being too 'moral' in her judgment. A few minutes later more callers were voicing that they were of the same mind set as I was.
